The Department of Electronic Devices and Equipment trains specialists within the educational and scientific school "Physics and Technology of Electronic Devices and Equipment for Information and Physical-Technical Systems". The founder of the school and the initiator of the department - Professor A.I. Vishnevsky. In different years the scientific leadership of the department was carried out by associate professor G. F. Semenov, professor S.V. Denbnovetsky. Currently, the department is headed by Professor L.D. Pisarenko. On the basis of fundamental physical-mathematical, technological, circuit-engineering and special educational-scientific courses, the department carries out a multi-disciplinary training of bachelors, masters, candidates and doctors of sciences for research, design, organizational, methodological and scientific research in the field of research, design, production and the operation of electronic devices and equipment of a broad purpose. In accordance with the new list of specialties, the department substantially expanded the field of training of higher qualification specialists. Today it conducts educational and scientific activity in the direction of "Electronic devices and systems". The expansion of the activity profile of the department graduates in the system-technical sphere allowed to form new educational and scientific programs for the training of higher qualification specialists. The department is a leading scientific specialist: 05.27.02 - vacuum, plasma and quantum electronics, 05.27.06 - technology, equipment and production of electronic equipment.

The organization of the specialties structure in the field of electronics is accompanied by the improvement of the curriculum of the department, strengthening the role of fundamental, normative-organizational and special research development in accordance with the requirements of the Bologna concept, the university's educational and research status, the modern needs of society.
